Immortal Love, Hiding in Plain Sight

Dog Poet Transmitting.......

‘May your noses always be cold and wet’.

We can have a passion for justice but too often there is the desire to enforce it as well. We may have an impetus to being moral with the danger of self-righteousness. We might be concerned with fair play and the next thing we know we have been seduced by political correctness. We can be attracted to beauty and its proliferation and cause some things to be labeled as ugly, which it might take special eyes to see.

In this world of mass confusion; millions of labels and never ending hype, the actual meaning of the virtues and archetypes becomes relative to the value systems of the people defining them and most of the time this results in them being compromised, to serve a personal agenda, whose hidden and not so hidden drive, can be hypocrisy and which results in an obscene perversion of the power of whatever angel is hiding within and is the instrument of its delivery. Every archetype has an angel contained within it that regulates it in the wider world and dispenses it to the worthy, as well as removing access to it for those who have profaned its meaning. This is why Love remains the single most potent power of them all. Love can’t be mishandled. It slips away like a cat in the night at the merest touch of impure intent.

All of the archetypes abandon their false presenters; deny authenticity, force …and all of the nuances of those specializations of Love but Love itself is of an entirely different order. Not only does it deny access and make its absence known, it also punishes the presumptuous. Love guards its treasure house with the mightiest defenders in the kingdom. If we can’t see that kingdom then we do not possess the degree of Love necessary to grant us the vision. It surrounds us the way food is everywhere in abundance in the wild but cannot be identified by the untrained eye.

Perhaps it was Bradford Angier who commented on the amount of people who starve to death in the wilderness, while sustenance is everywhere to be found. The same can be said for love as well as the riches of the world and all of those items and states that we seek after but which are concealed from our view. In some cases ‘poverty mentality’ conceals these things, in other cases it is too great an intensity of desire with too little sustained focus, in all cases it is Karma; both the having and the lack of anything is Karma in action.

Nobody gets shortchanged in this world concerning anything that they think they want. They short change themselves by chasing after the wrong thing, or pursuing conditions and items before acquiring the understanding necessary to control and enjoy them. We’re a bunch of twelve year olds, who want to grow up to be a fireman but don’t bother to learn to control the hose prior to employment; or is that deployment (irony alert!) We want to be a policeman and protect the public from the bad guys and wind up abusing the ones we are sworn to protect. We want to be soldiers and protect the country we are ‘taught’ and ‘told’ to love and wind up defending the interests of bankers and other fat cats.

You want to be rich; powerful, handsome/beautiful, famous, talented, at home in elegant surroundings. You get all that. You’re not denied anything. Not seeing the missing half of the Mobius Strip, is what keeps us from being more fully aware of this ‘fact; that and the border of forgetfulness that demarcates our individual lives from each other. We get these things because we earned them and we get them because we want them and in all cases they are conferred as elements in a lesson visited upon us. Does anyone wish they were Tony Blair, George Bush or, God help us, Ehud Barak? We‘re going to be different of course but we’re not. We lack the Love. I don’t want to wear the word out but it has so many permutations and levels of operation and experience that no human mind can contain more than a portion of them. The rutting of beasts in the fields is a dynamic of Love, as is the sacrifice of an Avatar for all the lifetimes of an age. In each case you are dealing with a fire hose and you are also dealing with fire. We don’t want to mess it up and wind up worse than we were beforehand, but we do. This power cannot be successfully wielded by human agency. You have to become more than that to manifest it.

If there’s one thing we don’t get, universally speaking, it is the imperative to set the thing we love free. We want to contain it and as a result, it abandons us. Most of the marriages on Earth are some form of ‘pride of ownership’. Love has a new car smell and like they say, “You can’t get that back”. They’ve even got a spray that is sold as ‘new car smell’. This false, representative tactic of life is epidemic at every level. It permeates the practice of medicine, where the control of symptoms is more important than the treatment of cause. It’s full up and overflowing in the religious world where style dominates substance and we find ourselves practitioners of empty rituals based on dogma and cant. It’s everywhere in the political and business world where appearances are the full time substitution for essence. It’s de rigueur in the world of the arts where pretense and pose stand in for inspiration and true creative force. I don’t care where you go, or what world of endeavor comes under the lens, it’s a fabrication and a counterfeit of the real thing; just like our money, our traditions and all the works of our hands, our hearts and our minds.

In these times, brought about by our separation from Love on behalf of materialism, one of the last things we could count on was the love of a mother for her child. Now even that has been warped into acts of indulgence and acting out for the cameras. This is why I’ve been banging on about Love of late. The importance of this integral element of life cannot be over estimated. It transforms everything. Without it you have nothing. No matter what you may have, you have nothing.

Fear and suspicion have replaced Love, because these things displace each other and cannot occupy the same place at the same time. If there were any one cause for the state of the world as it presently appears, it is the absence of Love.

Consider, with so many having abandoned Love, as a risky investment, how much Love is available for use. The entire universe is permeated with it and it is building up the way water backs up from an obstruction. All the virtues and archetypes come out of Love, the way that white light turns into the varieties of colors passing through a prism. Love foments revolution in the hope that we will discover it in our extremity. Love orchestrates disaster in the hope that we might see what had gone missing. There is no greater and more all purpose power anywhere and there never will be. It is the universal solvent in solve et coagula. It is all things to all needs, to all people and everything else is second best. It is the indirect power behind what gives our currency value. It is what gives real value to anything and which exposes everything else as a sham and a disappointment.

You need only one thing to surf the changes of this transforming world and that is Love. All you have to do is ask for it. All you have to do is exercise it and go about your way as if it were your guide and guardian. All the powers of the yogis come out of modifications of this force and all of the forces of the dark splendor of the illusionary world are expressions of misusing, that which can only be effectively applied when it uses itself through you. All it takes to gain it is to give up everything else and everything else is just one more thorn on a cactus tree. How much suffering can you take? Time will tell.

With all of the solutions being offered and all of the legitimately targeted bad guys who need to be neutralized and quarantined, only one force has the answer to every problem and condition and it knows the answer to everything by merely touching it, because Love turns everything into itself. It is the grand harmonic and attractive force that holds it all together, vitalizes everything that lives and shows the way out of every situation when no escape seems possible and… all you have to do is ask for it. If you want to know what you should do, where you should go, how you should be and what you need in every condition, no matter how small or how great, Love is the key in every case. It is the skeleton key of all time for every lock and barrier that has ever been and all of these obstructions exist for the single reason of informing you of what you lack. ‘Love is all you need’.

Nose cold and wet,

I needed to hear this today. Frustration at the antics of the children were causing me to lose track of the fact that it is not up to me.

In calm and quiet moments I can feel it permeating existence.

Hi Les and all,

LOVE is my guiding light. It is always there,i know this.
Harnessing its power is never an easy task to do,and the description of the 12 yr old who wants to be a fireman, struggling with the hose is the perfect analogy as to why it seems so difficult to obtain the blessings of LOVE.

Once you realise that LOVE permeates everything and is all around,a little contemplation, concentration and patience are needed and a focused effort to bring about the bounties (you decide)that LOVE can provide.

It is the old adage 'practice makes perfect'that has the most relevance here.

Yes!

Give love and you will get love in return. You must have faith in it, however. You must KNOW that love will return love and not have any doubts, fears, worries or anything else.

Our minds are what make us different from each other, where our true power resides, and it is our minds that the self-proclaimed elite "rulers" want to damage and control more than anything. Do not let them have your minds!

The biggest lie going is that we cannot control our minds. Of course we can. It's hard work, but WE CAN CONTROL OUR MINDS FOR GOOD. Let's be strong. Let's replace fear with courage, lack with abundance, unrest with harmony and hate with love. We are the change. It starts inside us.

I've not posted before, yet have been a regular reader for a long time, and would like to say thank you. Whether in full agreement or not, your posts promote inward thought. And it is my opinion that your constant, mostly gentle, prodding to keep going deeper can only result in positive change.

Love is one of the few things that can withstand the intensity of the light of truth. Or is it, truth is one of the few things that can withstand the intensity of love? Anyway, there is a man who's life and words have significant meaning to me, who said I should hate my life (not myself, but my life (my "human-ness") and your words have helped me better understand what I think he was saying. If we love our life, by default, anything that threatens this life (or the enjoyment of it) can only, at best, be loved to a lesser extent. And the temptation to spin the love...contaminate it, is strong. More often, anything that threatens life or the enjoyment of it is probably not loved at all. Hatred of this temporal life, however, frees me to express true love, the love you are writing about, immortal and eternal. There is no more temptation or desire to twist "acts of love" toward personal gain. And not only can I express true love, but I would then be able to fully see it expressed around me.

So again I say thank you. Thank you for your words, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to turn my thoughts into words, as it forced me to think. That's the easy part. Living the words is my greatest challenge.

So, earlier this morning I was reading "How to Free Your Mind/Tara the Liberator" by Thubten Chodren. The author has a most wonderful insight on love and what it means. As she explains, true love is unconditional love...a wish for the happiness of others without the involvement of "I"...no strings attached. In other words, we want to see all beings free from suffering, pain and the loneliness of their existence. Of course, to reach that state of awareness takes a lot of practice but as you said in your essay, Les, "This power cannot be successfully wielded by human agency. You have to become more than that to manifest it."
I think it is worth the effort, in fact, it is the only effort that has any real meaning in the long run. May we be blessed to have the opportunity, the time and the desire to pursue this effort wholeheartedly.

Muchos gracias! Extraordinary words yet again. The timing of certain trigger words you use have left me amazed for some time. Today, "poverty mentality" blew my mind & made me cry. I just returned for an unexpected visit to face that place through the eyes of a beloved. I knew it was time to move on & my heart is aching. My humanity is morphing as I am absolutely desperate not to return to the old paradigm (it's been seductively whispering my name)yet, when I tip-toed in that pool recently, yes, "love orchestrat(ed) a disaster so that I might see what had gone missing."

Feeling lost & found in the wilderness. Pausing for a breath & so grateful you do what you do.
Much love, always,

Hello Les.

I think you should go under the knife more often; if it makes you write like this (joke).

"We can have a passion for justice but too often there is the desire to enforce it as well. We may have an impetus to being moral with the danger of self-righteousness"

The above was a squirming moment as I think I may personally be guilty of exactly this at times.

Its just that I read figures like this (which are sure to be even worse now):

According to figures in 1998 it would take $6 billion to provide a basic education for all. It would cost $9 billion to provide water and sanitation for all and a further $13 billion to provide health and nutrition to all. 28 billion in total.

Then I read figures like this : In 1998 people spent;

$8 Billion on cosmetics in the USA.
$11 Billion on ice cream in Europe.
$17 billion on pet foods in the USA & Europe.
$50 billion on cigarettes in Europe.
$780 billion on weapons around the world.

And then have to listen to financially comfortable people complain loudly and begrudge even just a little of that wealth being passed on to those less fortunate than themselves.

It's difficult not to have too much passion and to make comparisions when through work one has daily experiences with both the haves and both sadly and unfortunately, far too many of the have nots.

"Wealth is something you acquire so you can share it, not keep it." LaDonna Harris

Thank you, LV. Also thank you for the 28 Feb broadcast.

I'm very fortunate to have found your sites with the possibility of interaction with you and other readerstijh. Books and essays, - distant and impersonal voices - were my only resource until then.

I came across your political writing first in What Really Happened, reading you only occasionally, sometimes flinching at some of the language.

Then I found Visible Origami. I draw constant sustenance from its immediacy.

Many thanks, again. Love, goodwill, to all.

I remember a posting back awhile about the dog you found and how it was one of the signs that helped you understand the difference between you and most others today. If you don't keep teaching the details of love and how to release the chains that bind, who will? Billy Graham Cracker, Con Hagee, Pope Joey the Rat, Messiah Obama? I come here for the massaging of my soul, the yanking of my core, the shaking of my foundation to strengthen it through fire from the Divine. Bang the tin-cup as hard and as often against the cell doors as you possibly can. We still haven't figured out it's us closing the door and shutting off the lights when the warden's say so.

I have been able in the past year to begin reconciling the torment within and rearrange the only thing I have control of, my attitude. You have shown me, guided, prodded and pushed me to see it's my attitude towards everything that will reflect back the position of Divine in the environment I hoist myself into; yielding to the intention of love or fear dictates the outcome. Where ever you go, there is the Divine, waiting on you like a crack addict whose dealer has been on vacation for a week if you choose or resting like a butterfly near the stream bed of your nature. Please keep teaching me about the middle of the river of life where Buddha, Jesus and the Avatars before and after said the Divine exists and love flows in all directions not just down hill.

It's a hard task to take the sculpting tool we so gladly try and chip away at others with and truly begin whittling down the rough edges and coarse surfaces that are our own slabs. I am finding underneath all the chipped away rubble a person that the people close to me love to be around the most. A power was granted at creation to me to live through the Divine no matter what course I take; Divine driving our tandem bicycle while I peddle from the back or me doing it all from the front while Divine cruises on the back with no worries, flip flops hanging over the handle bars (rough-ass ride, been there and the tee-shirt is torn and bloody). I am learning to steer less and let love guide and peddle more consistently versus harder.

You are teaching me that finding out how to stay in the lines with Divine while coloring the experience with my box of crayons is the masterpiece of the collaboration that is my life's print to hang when it is all said and done. The breath is Divines and the mind is mine. Love is the key that unlocks the draw bridge to the fortress of fear where we hold the Divine captive outside our minds. Love is proven by it's power to penetrate mental and physical illness and heal when nothing else does. You are providing that very service for me and I beg you to continue. The gifts that the Divine provides through me have only one term attached as it should be regardless to whom the gift passes to; release it forward. I am practicing every second now to focus on the intention of living through love and serving through the Divine and you my brother are the relevant voice of reason in a world of insane smiles.

Another lesson on love tomorrow would be appreciated sincerely.

Love your bro,

Ghana

Love and Hate are 2 sides of the same coin.

It's just another form of duality that takes you away from the infinite and eternal.

A fleeting, temporal emotion, a beastial reation of lower a lower mind.

Love is the Ego's favorite drug.

"I come here for the massaging of my soul."

I'm sorry Ghana, but my first thought after reading that was, "Did you get the happy ending?" I know, I'm an awful person.

Love (in its greater and lesser manifestations) has been consuming the majority of my thoughts lately. To me it seems it is both within and outside of me. It's something that I cultivate within, and yet it has a separate life all its own - it's its own autonomous, sovereign entity. I never dictate to *it*, it always dictates to me and I am helpless, hopeless, nothing, unless I follow its promptings. I endeavor to experience love at its most vast and unconditional; the narrow human understanding of it has lost nearly all its appeal.

What is the greatest manifestation of love? Would we recognize it if we were faced with it? Even just in our day to day lives? And what becomes of us if we decide -in our myopic fog- that it isn't real and we turn away from it? What happens? And then I hear the words, "Somtimes love isn't enough."

I think I'm in the process of trying to let the Love use me as its instrument, and that's what I would prefer, but I get so sick and frustrated with myself sometimes because I know I STILL get in the way... maybe it's time for another fast.

"Every archetype has an angel contained within it"

For some reason you reminded me of that lyric from Waits' Time:
"...history puts a saint in every dream."
That's on 'Rain Dogs', I think.

Les, I wanted to tell you that while I don't always agree with what you say, you have a beautiful way of not only making your writing immersive and engaging, but also deeply informative; like some kind of affluent, instructional liquid, if that makes any sense. Anyway, I really appreciate that about you. If I could kiss you, I would, but only in a plutonic way! (I wouldn't want you getting any weird ideas *points up*.)

I'm hoping the happy ending will be my own kundalini awakening when I have awakened the necessary attitude to allow the process to begin. I come here because it wipes away the fog and muck being slung by so many liars. I come to hear the truth trumpted and I love the trumpeter (guitarist) like my own flesh and blood and we have never physically met. If the day comes that Source says move on, then I will.

Please Les, keep 'banging on' about Love.  You are absolutely right: it is the most important force in the universe.  I am finding it becoming my entire focus;  accessing it and consciously following it as THE guiding principle in my life.  By doing this, life falls into place so much more harmoniously, with all circumstances (including the difficult ones, which I formerly viewed as 'problems') becoming opportunities for deeper understanding and connection to the Divine Flow.

'Love is all you need’.   'it knows the answer to everything...'   'Love is the key in every case.'   So true.

And I adore this:

'Consider, with so many having abandoned Love, as a risky investment, how much Love is available for use. '

Absolutely!  What a brilliant way to frame it!  Instead of being dismayed by the overwhelming lack of Love manifesting in most people, we can use this circumstance as an opportunity (fits in with the process I mentioned above) to soak up and then embody all that extra Love for ourselves - those of us who are attempting, as Nina so wonderfully put it, to be Love People!

Thank you Mr Visible.  I nominate this one as one of your best of.

Completely agree. It's I hope I am. But for me the challenge is sometimes unconditional love. The hardest thing, especially when you're connected to someone who resonates hate. You have to love everything even 'ugliness' and i don't mean physical. Love can and does build bridges. When you forget love you create barriers and battles within, expressed without. That's the hardest part, UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.
