Why I Call God, The Ineffable ...and other Considerations.

Dog Poet Transmitting.......

Hurricane Maria has now knocked out all of the power in Puerto Rico. They say it is not coming to America. Of course, there are things coming to America. Possibly the gravest danger America faces is already in America. Let's change 'possibly' to 'very likely'. Of course. These are the times that have always been spoken about. September 23rd is coming on Saturday. I don't know if that means anything. The general trend of Fundie prophets has been in the direction of nothing whatsoever so... yes, they are batting about as well as the New Age prophets. The Harmonica Virgins are still virgins. Y2K has resulted only in LBGTQiA. They keep adding initials. I expect P to be added soon, as well as N for Necros. B of course will be added too for the real pet lovers. 2012 was a big bust. I'm probably leaving some out. I'm not up on everything but... everything isn't up on me either and that brings me to today's essay which would be an extrapolation of sorts of the last posting, if we bypass the prediction aspect of the word. I'm not going to be predicting, just stating.

Why do I use the word, 'ineffable'? Hmmm. I believe I have very sound reasons and I think once you hear what they are, you are going to agree with me. The wisest minds that have ever been, all believe in a supreme being. I do not include the merely intelligent among the wise. You can be very smart and still a complete fool, which is how I view them; how I view those who insist there is no supreme being. The problem with most very smart people is that they use the history and behavior of organized religions as proof that there is no supreme being. What has organized religion got to do with God? Organized religion seeks to define God. That is impossible. God is incomprehensible and indefinable. Here is the definition of ineffable; “indescribable, inexpressible, beyond words, beyond description, begging description;” Does it not seem that I am using the most accurate of terms to reference God? It does to me.

I do not use the term 'father' because the ineffable is also mother and child lover and friend. I do not use 'indwelling' because the ineffable is what everything is composed of as well as being within everything and everyone, after one fashion or another as well as being uniquely apart and dwelling in a cloud of unknowing. Now... I don't actually know any of this but I use reason and logic... as well as experience to come to the ever refining conclusions that I have come to. I do use the term indwelling, it is not meant in an absolute manner, even if that is the end result, given that when the truth takes off its clothes the world disappears.

I sincerely mean no harm to anyone who believes other that do I, nor do I believe I am wiser or more well informed than anyone else, because I have had it proven to me that I am not. For whatever the reason is, I come into conflict with others where it is never my intention to. I have discovered that some people get very angry with me and sometimes hate me because I cannot be coerced into being what they want me to be, nor has anyone, so far, been able to force me into agreeing with them. It doesn't take force to get me to agree with them. One can easily achieve this by being sane and reasonable. When I say 'sane', I mean really sane, not what passes for sane these days.

I've been giving serious thought to how I handle things. On the one hand I want everyone who comes here to be aware of what goes on because of the state of resonance that takes place here; for whatever the reason that may be. At the same time when I share these things it can upset people and... in one case I didn't have to, because what got said was brought to my attention by a reader, since I don't go to Facebook very often at all, just to post and possibly check in, which likely will happen if someone contacts me. So... try as I might I can't avoid conflict, especially since there are a great deal more atheists these days than there ever was. Of course, there are a great many more people than there ever was before but... it is the nature of Materialism to sweep up the attention and devotion of as many as possible whose attention and devotion is upon Materialism and deposit them in the coffers of Mammon. Human souls are, after all, a form of currency, ergo- coffers. Mammon is one of Satan's lieutenants.

Atheists, be they conscious and committed atheists, or simply atheists by default, are still atheists.

Here's a tricky conundrum. What defines an atheist? You would think that it would simply be one who does not believe in God but... Buddhists and Hindus are also considered atheists by Christians and Muslims. The later call them infidels, which is probably a kind of atheist, except in some cases and locations, infidels would be an endangered species, whereas atheists are corporation heads. It's important to remember that many religious types, lip service and face time individuals, are also atheists. They don't really believe in the ineffable, it's just good politics in many places.

This is why at the conclusion of all of my radio broadcasts I honor as many spiritual founders of enduring traditions as I can remember because I don't consider them atheists. I also do not seek to define God, which is why I call God, the ineffable. Calling him the indefinable, or the unknowable doesn't have the same ring to it.

Here's a thing about transforming times and certainly the times we are in qualify as transforming. They are uncertain times. They can be dangerous times, especially if you are not paying attention and most especially if you do not have an informed guide. You can't be an atheist and have an informed guide. If you are an atheist then the course you are on is irrevocably set to lead you to an awareness of the ineffable. It may come at the end of a wasted life, or at the beginning of a new one. It may come some further distance down the line but... come it will.

I don't want to be in conflict with anyone and I don't want to be on the outs with anyone but if I let people bully me into doing things I don't want to do or coerce me into accepting points of view that I don't share, I'll be a poor imitation of them. It's not going to happen and if that results in conflict well, so be it. I don't live by anyone else's standards. I am engaged in developing my standards according to the manner and means by which the ineffable dictates that I shall.

It would be nice if we could move through life without conflict but those accomplishing it are probably not involved in it. Jesus Christ had conflicts and I'm not Jesus Christ, not even close, though the ineffable could turn me into a nine year old Hindu boy (apologies to Tom Waits), if he wanted to, on the spot. We can't control the appearance of conflicts but we can control whether our behavior pleases the ineffable or not. This is a world of conflict and we will not resolve them until we resolve our own internal conflicts and only the ineffable can do that, which leads me back to something or other about atheists but I forget what it was now.

It seems to me, from what I have been able to observe in my life that I am going to run into conflicts with people so, let me apologize ahead of time for that. I'm going to run into conflicts about more subjects than I can list. I'll do my best to be agreeable and when I'm wrong as it may become apparent to me I will admit it. On some matters this will prove impossible because the truth of it may not be apparent. In some cases there is more than one truth, certainly in a relative sense.

Certain world changing events are going to take place in the near future. They will affect all of us. They will certainly affect the world we live in. For those of us in whose lives the ineffable has gained a foothold, there is a chance we will not tremble. We should only tremble before and because of the ineffable and that is the goal. At least it is my goal.

I'll be as honest as I can be and maybe it will help someone who reads these words. I am not a very good devotee. I wish I was. I wish with all my heart that I was better at serving the ineffable than I am. Sometimes it seems that I do more harm than good, then again, I don't think much of myself anyway. That is actually a good thing, given the alternatives which I have seen examples of more often than I wish. As it so happens, when we go through life we make errors in judgment and the past can dog us. We need to remember that the ineffable is not just a bigger expression of us. The ineffable is infinitely more forgiving and we need to accept that and we need to accept that the ineffable is just that; ineffable, incomprehensible, unknowable but we can know the ineffable to the extent that it is possible. We can know the ineffable through Love. The more we express love, the more love we possess and the more love we express, the more refined our love becomes and the more refined our love... the closer we come to the ineffable.

As I said, I'm not a very good devotee but I am determined. I do not give up and that has to count for something. In fact, I know it counts for something. If you do not give up, you cannot fail, eventually the ineffable will have mercy on you and you will find that all those qualities that you lacked have miraculously been conferred upon you. Our shortcomings are there for a reason and the purpose of demonstration does not mean only for others. It means for us as well. If I can get where I am with all the flaws I have then all of you have a really good shot at doing a whole lot better. It takes less than you think if you never stop doing it.

End Transmission.......

Thanks Vis: always liked Anthony De Mello's take on this, that the biggest barrier to knowing God was the name God, and, and all the attendant ideas and baggage that came with that.
Best clear the mind and and know that I cannot define, I just know the ineffable is.

I actually like the word ineffable. It is a 'light' word, with none of the old baggage wrapped-up in 'God'. In addition, it resonates more with the right brain, having a wholistic feel to it. 'Indefinable' and 'unknowable' come-up, at least for me, as more left brain. Hard-edged.

I have been using all-God as a way to demonstrate that I am talking about more than a bearded man in the sky (Enlil or Enki?). Someone/something that incorporates everything. But ineffable is, somehow, more poetic. Good choice.

Ironically, I am embracing more love of all-God but am also more p.o.'ed at all-God. My father and my grandfather (maternal side) were both army doctors. They were immersed in the results of violence. Both were in San Francisco at the Letterman Army Hospital, within the Presidio, when tens of thousands of casualties were coming-back from the WWII island-hopping campaigns. (Damn...) I learned from their example that it is best to head-off violence long before it gets down to the physical.

In my case, I wanted to head-off violence by - colloquially - getting as close to the head of the snake as possible. 'Operate' there, rather than at the tail of the snake. That has led to my "ancient Buddhist priest/warrior" stance at present. If you can change someone/something towards the head of the beast (it is still all-God), then their 'orders' to subordinates will also change. Some might call it timeline-shifting...

Unfortunately, part of the process is 'grappling-on' to whatever being it is. You get to empath with whatever caused that being to become the way it currently exhibits. Usually massive held-pain from long ago. While within the process, one part of me may involuntarily exclaim, "You should be proud!" (with sarcasm) to all-God. Kind of a single-finger salute for the pain manifested by all-God.

I do know that this is probably part of some greater-process that Ray does not perceive (yet). But, there is a simmering pot of p.o.-ed-ness (to coin a word) at the huge number of casualties due to all-God's 'campaign'.

I think I am beginning to understand the feelings of my army-doctor ancestors...

Best Wishes,
Ray B.

Hey Viz,

I don't care what you call Him, or Her..............I just want to know "IT". Is that cool, or what? God being binary, or blah, blah, blah, whatever that bullshit is! I really don't care what anyone calls anything if I know, (is it okay if I call him/her/it?) "God".

Aren't we losing the point with all this petty bullshit? It happens all the time here! I come here to read what Visible has come up with in reflection. That interests me. These silly arguments about names, and Karen, and Ray, and the list could go on.......only distract us from what Visible has to say. And don't tell me that a majority of readers (or trolls) don't pick up that ball and run with it at every opportunity. Stay home! If you have something constructive to say regarding the post OR if you REALLY need to enlighten us with your latest life experience, or WHATEVER, then fine, share. But otherwise, STFU!! If I wanted to read what YOU have to say, I'd be visiting YOUR blog. Oh right, you don't have one.

I'm simply venting - sorry. I don't comment frequently either cause I usually have nothing to add to the author's view.

One thing I have gleaned about Les Visible over the years, well, I'll sum it up with a quote (grin):

"Wisdom is knowing I am nothing,
Love is knowing I am everything,
And between the two my life moves."
Nisargadatta Maharaj

Visible embodies that IMO but, what the hell do I know? I am god.

A monk once told me I should never apologise for anything unless it is my fault, but rather say I am sad if something happens that I never wanted to happen. I don’t like getting into conflict, but since so many people these days feel the need to hide the truth in an attempt to justify their unlawful and ungodly acts, what is one to do but stand by truth? Truth stands on its own, so truth is easily identifiable, even though it occurs to me these days many do their best to stamp it out. Telling the truth is, after all, a revolutionary act in a world full of lies. Some people maintain that there is no universal truth, but they never can back that statement up.

I believe established religion was set up as an outer example of the inner journey one must undertake to reunite with source, but somewhere along the way those in charge realised it was much more profitable to turn these establishments into a means by which individuals could pursue individual godhead, depriving their followers of the intended journey, and instead ensnaring them to serve an alternative agenda of world conquest.

One must be Tommy the pinball wizard not to see who the global elite and their minions serve. How can what is so crystal clear to me be veiled for so many others? The only one that can answer that is the ineffable, because until the Divine decides to draw back those veils no matter how hard one tries it is impossible to open other’s eyes and ears.

From a geopolitical standpoint this world is most definitely primed and ready to fulfil Revelations. I can remember when I first read Revelations, and thought, how dreadful it would be to have to go through such adversity and suffering, now I realise that is exactly where we are. Perhaps it is because the terrible prospect Revelations portrays is so frightening that many choose willing blindness instead?

I was told by a Christian car sales man last year to be careful what I believed, because as you believe so shall it be. I have thought about that long and hard and realised, even though there is only one true reality, there are many perspectives from which to gaze upon it. My conclusion was that although there are always many perspectives, there is only one that is consistent with truth, because only one is consistent with all the facts. I decided it was better to go with the facts, otherwise all one’s perspective really is is a false delusion that props up one's justification for doing that which run’s contrary to the Divine’s Will and universal law. Many have chosen the path that is most beneficial to them and their well being, which is really more about self preservation, which just so happens to be one of the 4 tenets of satanism. I believe it is worth mentioning at this time that this was not the path Christ chose. Christ was offered the world by satan, and instead Christ chose death. For that reason anyone who suggests to me that those who serve this satanic NWO are Christians, my reply is that they are either deluded as to what a Christian really is, or a liar. To be a Christian means to be ‘Christ like’, to be one of the anointed, so for one to wear this title they must have had to walk the path of their messiah. Therefore, if Christ refused to serve satan than it only follows that those who serve this ungodly system are anything but Christians!

All I know is that the only chance I believe any of us have is our ability to flow with our Creator. Those who chose the system are going to soon realise that they put all their eggs into the wrong basket, as the system is, and always was, nothing more than an illusion created by Man.

'All nations surrounded me; In the name of the LORD I will surely cut them off.' (Psalm 118:10)

'Do not trust in princes, In mortal man, in whom there is no salvation.' (Psalm 146:3)

'Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord.’ (Jeremiah 17:5)

I really don't expect everyone to enjoy my meagre offering, but I do expect that they would have the intelligence to simply move along if they don't. If you are too dense to do that what makes you think any criticism you have is worth intelligent consideration??

If you are reading this, it proves you are an idiot ;o), Lucky for you I love everybody, idiots included.

Let us keep in mind that these are very strange times. What I have experienced recently and only a portion of which I am speaking about has been unlike anything I have seen before. The oddest thing is that I really did nothing to provoke any of it. It is astounding. For my part I am going to keep my head down and soldier on. Gratefully my home environment is wonderful. Thank God for that.

A Gem Vis. Every gem has it's facets. Even the gem it's maker, it's cutter, those who view it closely and those who view it from a distance, all the space and time in between are in and of themselves facets.

Still facets do not reflect by their own light. On light must be present in order for all facets reflect.

God is the magnitude of creation and we reflect as infinite butterfly effects.

(Big toothy grin)

To the no name,
Humility is not thinking less of yourself it's thinking of yourself less. See all of the "masters" examples. I call them masters because they knew to the core of their being: 1) they may be born into this world, they were not bound by it. 2) they knew they were not from it. 3) They were under no obligation or contract to serve it. 4) they served humanity.

Start with Zoroster, from him the concepts of "good and evil" came into the world. He is its origin.

Ahh yes, the holon and the proto-gstalt that give the gstalt (essence of being) it's form. Much more eloquently written by you Vis.

I've been reading your three main blogs for years now (ten years?? perhaps longer) and it's probably fair to say I've gotten something out of all of them. This time it's this gem :"For those of us in whose lives the ineffable has gained a foothold, there is a chance we will not tremble".
This struck me with some force. As a recovering randroid I'm definitely not a very good devotee and you have , indeed, helped someone with these and many of your other words so please keep on
keeping on and thank you very much.

Dear Vis
Thamk you for another uplifting post and I agree with you on the use of the word Ineffable. You are a wordsmith of the highest caliber and all who come here know this anyway! You wrote "The wisest minds that have ever been, all believe in a supreme being. I do not include the merely intelligent among the wise. You can be very smart and still a complete fool, which is how I view them; how I view those who insist there is no supreme being." It just reminded me of jalaluddin rumi's saying:

Well, No Name,
Then you don’t have to come here – simple.

Vis,
I just finished reading They Divine Pymander of Hermes Merurius Trismegistus. It’s very repetitive, but delivers the message for those of us who are slower. It’s another simplicity - there is the maker and the made. That’s all there is; including all unseen and seen forces/dimensions.

I was telling my husband (one of the masses) last weekend…”just imagine force…the force that holds all things – the world –the planets the universe – and sweeps along in more creation.” He did imagine for a moment and was somewhat awed.

And, agreed; the ineffable is most appropriate and covers all the angles.

Gene and others; Potato patato. It's what works. My conversations with the ineffable often include 'father', 'My friend' 'my brother' some said by me some said to me but when discussing that which is incomprehensible with others and not in an internal discourse, I use a term that directly interprets into ineffable and similar. Whatever works for anyone works for me. the ineffable is less concerned with what we call him/her and more concerned with whether we call at all.

Well, I certainly am no authority on language, so I can take whatever term you choose to use and still understand the point. You might even notice I use more than one term myself on those no doubt too frequent occasions when I spew my poor responses into your comment section.

If I don't understand what you are saying, the fault lies in my poor interpretation of what you have said. I can never find a desire in me to correct your phrasing or attempt to instruct you.

If you consider yourself to be such a poor disciple, that leaves me knowing how far beneath the light that I continue to find myself.

The fault is not in our stars, but within ourselves.
Billy has another one too:
"It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves.”

I'm sure of one thing. As you said earlier today: "the ineffiable is less concerned with what we call him/her and more concerned with whether we call at all."
Amen brother, and

I AM THAT I AM says it all for me, because each of us are multidimensional beings who are co-Creators, stumbling blindly mostly, but sometimes not, trying to follow in the majestic footprints of that which Created us ALL.

The dark has done its job by holding us down in captivity while we fermented through the germination stage, so we could evolve into who and what we really are, now all those who are awakening from their slumber are emerging into the light of a new Creation, where light, love and justice rules, because it is written on the very fabric of our hearts and souls.

Reading the wealth of thoughts written here in response to Vis's outpouring jewels of wisdom is enough to raise anyone up to heights previously undreamed of. How blessed are we to all partake of the blessings provided here?

It occurs to me that each of us must be something special to our cosmic Father and Mother, because each of us were brought here to enjoy the bounty of love and understanding that is opening us all up to our higher nature, and exactly what it means to be a humane human being :o)

HOW BLESSED ARE WE??????

Ayuh! Last night was metaphysical. Thought I had a dead battery, but it was actually loose cables I found out today. My fault, but I won't get into that. Called my insurance company, had the car jumped, it got me almost home, but I lost the battery completely on the freeway. Headlights and all kinds of other things just stopped working. So much fun at 2:00 AM on an unlit road. Car kept going, until I hit the brakes. It died completely, but I managed to coast into a parking lot of guest parking of an expensive housing project, about 3 kilometres from where I live, put a note on the door and started walking. On the way home, me thinks I met an angel. An elder black dude in an overcoat smokin' a fag. I mentioned my issue, he smiled and said to be optimistic. It'll be OK. It was, and I was very happy to have run into him.

All's OK now. What was funny is that I was gonna do an oil change and safety check TOMORROW, and all this could have been avoided it my cables hadn't jostled all the way loose from me not tightening them enough from the last automotive problem. And we might have made a new fan from one of the businesses I had to pester regarding the use of their phone to call my insurance company for help.

Kinda strange, but I'm glad the car got stuck at work last night. It cost me, (I got a new battery anyway since the old was so old) but I just got the biggest check of the year due to extended hours, so. . .

I wouldn't trade the many mystical 'messages' I got from the experience for anything. There were more than what I wrote of.

In the meantime (and in mean times do we live), I share with you a post by a fellow I have grown to appreciate very much over the past many years. Les Visible his moniker, he maintains several blogs, each with gorgeous banners. Visible Origami, one of them, features a personal, revealing contemplation on the author's choice of "The Ineffable" for referencing GOD (in my universe, "dog" spelled backwards in upper case letters), by whatever appellation, label, and|or silence one may favor for one's Self. My Self, I resonate with his meditation with a vibration akin to "meditation bells', those high-pitched, pure clarion calls to enter the temple within.

When we encounter our Self in others, I would like to remember to say, "Thank you for being Nowhere!" with the understanding, of course, each and all being everywhere all at once. I find it good I do not have the gift of "higher consciousness every moment of Now in a day -- I'd never get anything done! Back to work I go, high-ho, high-ho! I still have a long way to go, unless the ineffable shows me a short cut along this windy roadway.

Blessings to each and all,

Alan
